From The Commercial Appeal:

A County Commission committee narrowly approved Wednesday a resolution calling on the county administration to reopen bids for a contract for family planning funds.

The committee voted 5-4 in favor of the resolution Commissioner Steve Mulroy proposed. It asks the administration not to renew a contract for federal Title X funding with Christ Community Health Services and to open bidding using independent reviewers.

“Based on Commissioner (Justin) Ford’s co-sponsorship with me, I think it’s a good chance it will pass on Monday” with the full commission, Mulroy said.

Commissioners Henri Brooks, Walter Bailey, Sidney Chism and James Harvey joined Mulroy in favoring the resolution. Commissioners Mark Billingsley, Terry Roland, Mike Ritz and Heidi Shafer voted against it.
