COMMERCIAL APPEAL ENDORSES STEVE!!!
In a July 13 editorial, the Memphis Commercial Appeal endorsed Steve for reelection to the County Commission. The editorial praised Steve's role as a consensus-builder and his leadership on such issues as the Living Wage and functional consolidation. The endorsement came the same day as Memphis' main newspaper endorsed a combination of Democratic and Republican candidates.

Steve keeps his cool when threatened by a mentally ill street person while taping a TV interview. Although it received much media attention focusing on "aggressive panhandling," Steve tried to use the situation to focus attention on the need for better mental health services for the Memphis homeless.
